A rare early silver railway thimble decorated with an engine and carriages in a band near the facet cut rim.
Online research shows one with the same design but a different rim sold by Bonham's in 2004 and they identified it as Trevithick's 'The Novelty'. He died in 1833 so it may have been made around this date as a commemorative piece.
In excellent condition- a clear image and undamaged.
