A naive chip carved book-shaped wooden snuff box with a double headed eagle on the lid and figure on the back with other linear chip carving. The hinge is made of tin ? and crudely tacked in sections on the inside. The sides are carved with horizontal lines imitating the pages of a book and the 'spine' is carved in imitation of a leather binding.
There is no damage just some darker patches which I think is in the wood rather than stains.
