A good 19th century silver knitting stick with embossed decoration and with a pin fastening. Dutch silver mark and maker's initials.
Knitting sticks or 'third hands' were worn at the waist to support a knitting needle. Dutch ones are usually marked with a tiny 'sword' to indicate silver.
