A small wooden pot decorated with a holly wreath and the words ' The Compliments of the Season'. Inside, the base is dished and varnished which suggests it was made to take a paste -most likely rouge although there is no discoloration.
The varnish has small areas of loss which I've shown by angling the box in the photographs to show them up. It is just the varnish as the paint underneath is intact and otherwise there's no damage.
