
A pearl folding pocket knife with a folding steel blade marked with a key symbol and Steer & Webster. c1850
In excellent condition- no damage at all and the spring action is strong.
Steer & Webster Sheffield cutlers and merchants- in 1842 the key symbol was applied for by William Steer. They were listed after 1845 as a 'merchant and maker of fine scissors, shears, razors, and table knives'. The failing business was liquidated in 1872 after Steer's retirement in 1851.
