A mother of pearl bodkin case with gilt mounts from a French Palais Royal sewing box.
The piece is in good order other than damage to the inner sleeve. The lid does fit however and stays in place. Usually it can only fit the one way round so damage can be easily caused if it is replaced incorrectly.
