A mid 19th century tape measure once part of a matching set of sewing tools in a Victorian sewing box. c 1850
The top is mother of pearl carved to resemble a flower. The barrel and base are made of mutton bone as can be seen by the flecking in that material.
The printed red silk tape is the original and is complete along with its turned bone end stop.
