Two 18th century octagonal silver 'Dandy' buttons engraved with a Tudor rose- a popular motif. The pattern was also used on British naval uniforms until the late 18th century but not in this form.
The late 18th century Dandy was a very fashionable young man who followed the latest trends in fashion and behaviour (Beau Brummell). These octagonal waistcoat buttons would have been a bold patriotic statement.
1.5cm in diameter.
In good condition- no damage. There is however a third, smaller button which is sadly damaged so that will be included in the parcel for free.
